    Get PDF
This paper is practically interested in the unchangeable feature of Arabic handwritten character. It presents results of comparative study achieved on certain features extraction techniques of handwritten character, based on Hough transform, Fourier transform, Wavelet transform and Gabor Filter. Obtained results show that Hough Transform and Gabor filter are insensible to the rotation and translation, Fourier Transform is sensible to the rotation but insensible to the translation, in contrast to Hough Transform and Gabor filter, Wavelets Transform is sensitive to the rotation as well as to the translation

A new chalcone of the coumarin, C21H18O7, containing an annulated α-pyrone ring, was obtained by condensation of the borate complex of acyl(hydroxy)coumarin with trimethoxybenzaldehyde. The structure exhibits intramolecular hydrogen bonding between the hydroxyl oxygen and the ketonic oxygen in the coumarin group. The bicyclic coumarin fragment and the benzene ring form a dihedral angle of 17.1 (4)°. The crystal packing involves dimers interconnected by C—H⋯O hydrogen bonding

Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine the effect of time of day on short-term repetitive maximal performance and psychological variables in elite judo athletes. Methods: Fourteen Tunisian elite male judokas (age: 21 ± 1 years, height:172 ± 7 cm, body-mass: 70.0 ± 8.1 kg) performed a repeated shuttle sprint and jump ability (RSSJA) test (6 m × 2 m × 12.5 m every 25-s incorporating one countermovement jump (CMJ) between sprints) in the morning (7:00 a.m.) and afternoon (5:00 p.m.). Psychological variables (Profile of mood states (POMS-f) and Hooper questionnaires) were assessed before and ratings of perceived exertion (RPE) immediately after the RSSJA.Results: Sprint times (p > 0.05) of the six repetition, fatigue index of sprints (p > 0.05) as well as mean (p > 0.05) jump height and fatigue index (p > 0.05) of CMJ did not differ between morning and afternoon. No differences were observed between the two times-of-day for anxiety, anger, confusion, depression, fatigue, interpersonal relationship, sleep, and muscle soreness (p > 0.05). Jump height in CMJ 3 and 4 (p < 0.05) and RPE (p < 0.05) and vigor (p < 0.01) scores were higher in the afternoon compared to the morning. Stress was higher in the morning compared to the afternoon (p < 0.01).Conclusion: In contrast to previous research, repeated sprint running performance and mood states of the tested elite athletes showed no-strong dependency of time-of-day of testing. A possible explanation can be the habituation of the judo athletes to work out early in the morning

At our present time, the information represents a strategic value and a significant proportion of users do not have the financial and human resources to assume this additional charge, and thus to have an edge on competitors. The approach of this thesis dissertation is mainly motivated bu the following observation: many professionals and researchers have found that business intelligence is neglected in SMES. The goal of our research experience was to integrate this economic intelligence strategy within SMES of "Marseille Innovation", a leading business development center in the mediterranean region, and with some tunisians partners. This monitoring device consists of a set of free tools on the Internet, such like, (intelligent agent, intelligence software, metaserach,...) and so forth. Our methodology is based upon an analysis of survey concerning a sample of SMES located in the business centers of Marseille Innovation (France) and ElGhazela (INSAT, Tunisia). Furthermore, a study of the feedback is performed. And all that allowed us to observe the real world needs and to interpret them based on different theorical approaches. Last but not least, our research project shows clearly that the scheme of business intelligence that we have adopted may be convenient to many companies that cannot afford the costs of the information in a very competitive environment where knowledge is very essential.AIX-MARSEILLE3-BU Droit Sci.Eco. Asymmetric response of Investor sentiment to Economic Policy Uncertainty, interest rates and oil price uncertainty: Evidence from OECD countries

    No full text
AbstractThe question of the economic policy uncertainty, interest rate and oil price volatility and their effects on investor sentiment is rarely addressed by the literature. Thus, we are motivated to provide new insights into the study of these effects based on asymmetric analysis. Our empirical study is based on the monthly frequency of 22 OECD countries and ranges from January 2000 to June 2021. Using the Nonlinear Autoregressive Distributed Lag (NARDL) panel model, we find that economic policy uncertainty, interest rate and oil price uncertainty have disproportionately asymmetric effects on OECD investor sentiment in the short and long run. Indeed, when occurring volatility of these variables, investors will certainly adopt, according to their sentiments, different directions and strategies of investment decision-making

Arabic Bank Cheque Words Recognition Using Gabor Features

    No full text
Arabic cheque processing is one of the important applications of handwriting recognition. The recognition of Arabic Cheque bank is still awaiting lots of work in its constituent stages, which include pre-processing, feature extraction and classification. Several feature extraction methods used to recognize handwritten digits and words. The stroke direction is one important feature of Arabic handwriting which Gabor filter proved its ability to detect this local structural feature. On the other hand, investigating different classifiers can improve the recognition accuracy. In this paper, Gabor features are investigated with ELM and SMO classifiers. Two Arabic Cheque datasets, AHDB and CENPARMI, are used for evaluation. The results from Gabor features with SMO classifier outperform previous studies. This paper was made possible by a QUCP award [QUCP-CENG-CSE-15-16-1] from the Qatar University.
